June Book Haul (self control prevails)

Hello! Posting a classic end-of-the-month post y’all. Can I just say, it’s been an absolute struggle not to buy every book that was published in between 2016 to 2019. I can’t believe how many fantastic books I’ve missed out on! However despite feeling like I need to buy every single book ever, I showed an extreme amount of restraint and actually bought only three books. THREE BOOKS?! Lets check them out!

Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Firstly, we have to acknowledge this beautiful cover. PEOPLE COVERS CAN BE PRETTY TOO. Secondly, this book as well as the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo have been getting mad hype in book spaces. I’m intrigued by fictional autobiographical stories and the way this is written promises a quick read. I’ve read the first chapter and it is interesting, but I haven’t been completely blown away from the get go. I’m hoping to get to this one next month.

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

The first book I thought to get when I got into reading again. Which means of course I’ve already read it (link to review here). I kind of wish I got both books in hardcover now because I love them so much. Maybe it might be a present to myself if I ever finish my first draft of my WIP.

Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

This book was getting so much hype and with the hype came extremely positive reviews! Seeing as it’s pride month as well I had to get a completely queer book to read. A third of the way through and gosh. I forgot how much I love to read cute contemporaries! Also, it’s a floppy paperback! #FloppyPaperbacksAreTheBestPaperback

That’s all folks! If I can show restraint in book buying, after a three year hiatus, anyone can I promise you.
