April 2016 TBR!

Happy April Fools! I hope none of you have been fooled yet, I have been looking at every news article with cynicism tinted glasses -yep those are a thing- and I haven’t been tricked yet so I guess it’s working!

So this month’s TBR is one less from March’s- six books- but I am hoping to smash that out of the ball park. I think I have a new reading spark inside of me, if I can conquer a reading slump, I can conquer anything (that’s the logic right?). I still have another week off from school so I’m hoping I can read at least two books in that time.

1) Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë

I am finally a Brontë novel! The Brontë sisters are apparently the princesses of Classics so have to read a Brontë novel for my 2016 classics challenge! Wuthering Heights is a bit thicker then The Great Gatsby but I’m hoping it will be the classics which is just AMAZING.

2) The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

There is nothing much to say about The Raven Boys, just that I am really excited to start it and I am blissfully unaware about what the story is about, only that there is a girl could Blue I think, but that’s the way I like to enter stories. It is suppose to be a fantasy so I’m looking forward to the fantastical elements in the novel.

3) Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne

This book is apparently amazing so I’m looking forward to it and reading a contemporary, as I haven’t been reading loads of those. I’m hoping that when people say it’s a feminist novel they aren’t meaning it, or that it isn’t novel- I think that’s the only reason why I am feeling apprehension about reading it. Other then that, I can’ wait! (And beautiful yellow spines are beautiful)

4) City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I AM FINALLY READING A CASSANDRA CLARE NOVEL! I think a lot of people hate this series and love it and I’m kind of hoping that I fall into the latter category. I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding Cassandra Clare and a lot of strong views about her, but I am entering City of Bones with a clear mind and I am hoping at least that I find the read fun.

5) The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson

Again, details of this books are kind of sketchy in my mind, but that’s all good for me. What sparked my interest was that this books tackles some transgender issues and I’ve never read a book about anything transgender so I’m happy to be enlightening my mind.

6) Prodigy by Marie Lu

I can’t remember when I read Legend, it was either at the beginning of this year or late last year, but I do remember being positively surprised by it. I didn’t hate the protagonists and the writing was nice. I’m trying to finish up some series so I’m excited to be carrying on in the trilogy.

Bonus Books…

This are the books I’ll maybe swap with some of the books on my main TBR if I feel like reading them, or if I get my hands on them in time!

The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh

Tokyo Ghoul- Volume 2 by Sui Ishida

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E Schwab

The Automation by G.B. Gabbler

Those are the books that I am going to try to read this April! What books are you planning to read this month? Have you read any books I’m planning to read? And what did you think of them! Comment below and let’s discuss!

Yes!! Your list tho. So happy you’re reading Clare. I read Lady Midnight and freaking fell in love all over again with her writing. It’s fantastic. Also, Lu’s books are pretty great as well.

I am SO excited The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Abdieh. Eeeek. I absolutely loved the first book.

Hmm… I was a little skeptical about the list because you started off by saying Happy April Fools Day. So maybe this isn’t the real list!
Yea, I’m skeptical about everything today too.

I really hope you like The Raven Cycle series! Do you think you’ll get around to the other two this month as well if you enjoy the first one? Also I really need to re-read all of Cassandra Clare’s series; I brought Lady Midnight the other week but I need to catch up on the earlier books before I can start it!
