Top Ten Tuesday- Spring TBR!

Ello, ello, ello bibliophiles, how’s it going! Well I just realised I literally fail at speaking in French. I have my speaking exam coming up and my French teacher wanted me to come to her to see how my pronunciation is and….well lets just say I need a miracle if I want to pass!

But this post isn’t about me and how I’m on the verge of failing French. No because today is Tuesday which means Top Ten Tuesday! This week’s topic is Spring TBR which makes me excited as I can finally figure out what the hell my reading goals for spring are.  Without further ado, and in no particular order, here are the top ten books on my Spring TBR!

.1. The Rose and The Dagger by Renee Ahdieh

I cannot wait for this sequel! Though I believe that the first book could of been wrapped up and left as a standalone, I acknowledge that there were some plot lines that needed to be addressed and I can’t get enough of Shazi and Khalid anyway. Hopefully this book is as enchanting as the first one.

2. The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson

Loads of people love this book and when I do read it it will be my first read about transgender which I guess is an accomplishment! As I said, loads of people love this book and I can’t just ignore a book that gets referenced everywhere!

3. Look Who’s Back by Timur Vermes

I’m just going to let you read some of the summary.

Berlin, Summer 2011. Adolf Hitler wakes up on a patch of open ground, alive and well. Things have changed – no Eva Braun, no Nazi party, no war. Hitler barely recognises his beloved Fatherland, filled with immigrants and run by a woman.

I need to read this book now!

Apparently its been drowned by controversy and by the questions of if we should be laughing at such a person who killed millions of people and whose history is just so dark. I don’t know where I sit on that argument, but all I know that I’m not going to take this book too seriously as it’s satire.

4. The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

Everybody and their mums love this series! I’m a little bit late on this bandwagon but better late than never and the premise sounds awesome!

5. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

The trailer for this movie has come out and I haven’t watched it. You know why? BECAUSE I HAVEN’T READ THE BOOK! I desperately need to read this book and I’m going to plan on doing it real soon and quick before I get spoiled!

6.  1984 by George Orwell 

When people quote George Orwell they always quote from this classic and I’ve been saying that I need to read it for ages and now I am actually going to! I’m curious to find out who this ‘Big Brother’ person is…

7. The Establishment: And How They Get Away With It by Owen Jones

I have this really weird interest in politics and political agendas and everything that goes into those catergories. It’s written by a person I’ve seen quite a few times on the telly as well and he does have some interesting points to say. I’m interested to see how The Establishment is described and how mad I might get by reading this book.

8. Tokyo Ghoul: Volume 2 by Sui Ishida

I finished the anime and first volume of Tokyo Ghoul this month and I am in no hurry to stop! Apparently this is the volume which really highlights the differences between the manga and the anime and I’m honestly really excited read it!

9. The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood

Nothing much to say about this book really but that it is a load of people’s favourite book and that the premise sounds seriously interesting. Here it is down below:

Offred is a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead. She may leave the home of the Commander and his wife once a day to walk to food markets whose signs are now pictures instead of words because women are no longer allowed to read. She must lie on her back once a month and pray that the Commander makes her pregnant, because in an age of declining births, Offred and the other Handmaids are valued only if their ovaries are viable.

Offred can remember the years before, when she lived and made love with her husband, Luke; when she played with and protected her daughter; when she had a job, money of her own, and access to knowledge. But all of that is gone now…

10. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

Ever since the sequel for this book came out, I’ve been hearing non stop how amazing the series is. There is no excuse for me not reading this book already as I have been dying to read it since it came out! This Spring is going to be the Spring where I finally read this book!

All done! So there is a real mix of book for my Spring TBR from YA Fantasy to Classic to Political Non-Fiction. I could of put just a list for YA but I’m trying to broaden my comfort zones and to do so I need to not read YA all of the time. I really can’t wait to (hopefully) read all that are listen above!
